Financial conditions could improve. If the inflation rate remains low, and if the money aggregates remain within their target band, the Federal Reserve might decide that it has done enough to the economy and that it can let the interest rates come down. In that case investment would come back, and there would be a more normal cyclical investment pattern and a stronger recovery in 1984 and 1985. (Author)
