ELECTRODES, WIRING, AND BARRIERS
Recommendations are made to clarify intrinsic safety practice in regard to ignition test electrode material, transmission line stored energy restriction, and barrier practice. Effects of practical conditions on electrode behavior are evaluated. Safe cable parameters are derived and lengths stated. The zener barrier approach and its ability to simplify intrinsic safety practice are described.
