DEEP COMPACTION BY VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL VIBRATION
Densification of cohesionless soils by vibration is discussed. Three different methods for successful application are mentioned and illustrated by full-scale examples. Conclusions drawn show the influence of probe spacing, importance of particle grading and vibrator size and the successful application of cone penetrometer tests (CPT's) to assist in evaluating vibrocompaction operations.
