THE IMPLICATIONS OF THE CODE OF PRACTICE FOR "ELECTRICAL SAFETY IN PUBLIC LIGHTING OPERATIONS"
The paper defines the requirements for a code of practice and the importance of its being kept up to date. It then deals with the need for the code and the importance of standardisation and the related training programmes. The development is traced in some detail, and this outlines a possible method of programming future codes on related subjects. It goes on to stress the benefits of adopting the code and the benefits arising. In the second part of the paper the use of the code of practice in conjunction with other codes, statutory instruments and regulations is considered particularly in relation to the requirements contained in the 15th edition of the IEE Regulations.
