EXPERIENCIAS DE LA UTILIZACION DE CLASIFICACIONES GEOMECANICAS EN LA CONSTRUCCION DE TUNELES

This book sets out to give a general view of the use of geomechanical classifications, making a comparative analysis of those which have been in use during construction of the tunnels for the Campomanes-Leon Motorway, Spain (Widkham, Bieniawski, Barton et al). It also looks at new fields of application which have arisen in the use of classifications, considered to be useful in works of this type, for example, analysis of the behaviour of anchorages in terms of rock quality. The final part of this work presents an overall application of convergence measurements and geomechanical classifications to the design and testing of supports in tunnels. (TRRL)
