PROBABILISTIC ANALYSIS OF THE STABILITY AND SETTLEMENT OF EMBANKMENTS ON THE CUBZAC-LES-PONTS EXPERIMENTAL SITE

ANALYSE PROBABILISTE DE LA STABILITE ET DES TASSEMENTS DES REMBLAIS DU SITE EXPERIMENTAL DE CUBZAC-LES-PONTS

This report presents the results of the statistical analysis of variations in the physical and mechanical properties of organic clay on the LCPC experimental site for the study of embankments on compressible soils at Cubzac-les-Ponts, together with the results of the probabilistic study of the stability and settlement of the embankments constructed on this site. It made it possible to determine the statistical coefficients of soil properties for each bore hole, for each embankment, for the zone beyond the embankments, and for the site as a whole. Subsequently a test was made of the significance of the normal and beta laws for the distributions of each variable.
