VIBRATORY COMPACTION OF GRANULAR MATERIALS - STUDY OF THE BEHAVIOR OF THE SOIL-VIBRATORY ROLLER SYSTEM
COMPACTAGE PAR VIBRATION DES MATERIAUX GRANULAIRES - ETUDE SUR LE COMPORTEMENT DE L'ENSEMBLE SOL-ROULEAU VIBRANT
A brief summary of the literature concerning the role of vibration in the compaction of granular materials is followed by an examination of the theoretical bases of schematic representation of the behavior of the soil-roller system using models with concentrated parameters, of the mass-spring-damper type. Variations in contact area as a function of the mechanical properties of the material and the static load applied are dealt with in an experimental (ditch test) and theoretical study.
