DETERMINATION OF THE DISTANCE TO SIDE OBSTACLES ALONG A ROAD

The purpose was to investigate commercially available equipment which can be used when determining the distance to different visibility-reducing obstacles along a road. This paper is the result of a market analysis using information from literature studies and industrial contacts. The result shows that there are several partial solutions like video picture analysis and direct distance measurement with a laser. The main principles for the solutions are presented. (Author/TRRL)
