COMMERCIAL DEEP SEA TOWING ALONG THE US PACIFIC COAST, CANADA AND ALASKA
This paper touches on the development and growth of commercial deep-sea towing, and the emergence of tug barge operations along the entire North American West Coast, including Canada and Alaska, into a commercial cargo system. It also includes some unusual towing ventures, and deep-sea towing hardware in universal use on the Western Coast; it dwells on the exposure of the underwriters' marine surveyor to the many facets of these various ventures.
