BRITISH STANDARD AUTOMOBILE SERIES VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS (VIN). PART 3A: SPECIFICATION FOR LOCATION AND ATTACHMENT

This British Standard is identical with ISO 4030-1983 "Road Vehicles--Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)--Location and Attachment" prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 22, Road Vehicles, of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This edition of the standard supersedes BS au 175 : part 3 : 1979 and extends the field of application to include mopeds, the 1979 edition of the standard is now withdrawn. This standard specifies the requirements for the location and marking of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on motor vehicles, trailers, motorcycles and mopeds as defined in ISO 3833. (TRRL)
