TRACTION TESTER SIMULATES TRAIN INERTIA AND ROUTE CHARACTERISTICS

Combined testing of complete traction equipment reveals failure modes and weaknesses that cannot be predicted at the design stage. Microcomputer control enables phenomena such as wheelslip and overloading to be introduced while speific operating parameters and route data are applied. The ability to check regenerative/rheostatic braking performance against varying line voltage is particularly useful.
