ENERGY SAVINGS BY COASTING IN TRANSIT SYSTEMS
In view of the ever-increasing cost of energy, savings are important. It is shown that considerable savings without any significant lengthening of journey time are possible also for conventional motive power units. The effect of the parameters of maximum speed and length of coast are investigated.
