A COMPARISON OF ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF MEASURING THE RESIDUAL STRENGTH OF LONDON CLAY

This paper describes a series of consolidated drained direct shear tests on natural shear surfaces in London clay to determine the residual shear strength, and compares the results with those obtained in ring shear tests on the same soil. (Author/TRRL)
