USE OF ROUND NUMBERS
Use of round numbers in engineering writing is discussed and it is shown that through a process of tacit co-ordination between the writer and the reader, round numbers help focus attention by being round, facilitate agreement, speed review processes, and reduce argument. 1 ref.
