EFFECT OF STRESS RELEASE ON SHEAR MODULUS OF CLAYS
An experimental study using resonant column tests determined the effect of a temporary release of confining pressure (under conditions of no drainage) on the low-amplitude shear modulus of two cohesive soils. The soils tested were a remolded kaolinite clay and a natural 'undisturbed' silty clay.
