HYDRAULIC DRIVES FOR MARINE CARGO PUMPS

Although this article deals with hydraulic drives for marine cargo pumps and discusses the relevant advantages of closed and open systems, the principles apply equally to winches and other installations. The author also deals with the economic and other factors that should be considered when choosing between open and closed hydraulic systems for use with centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
