OPENING UP THE WEST IN BRAZIL
New highway under construction in Brazil is illustrated as a road to remote areas. Brazil is building a highway that for the first time will link some of its isolated western states to the rest of the country with a paved road. The experimental section consists of nine 200-m lengths, each with a distinctive combination of base and subbase thicknesses.
