SKID RESISTANCE
This article is the fifth in a series discussing pavement management systems and their implementation. Previous articles have outlined the initial steps in the creation of a pavement management system, the selection of its elements and refinements that can customize the process for your own need. In this article, the factors and problems involved in measuring skid resistance are discussed, including measuring devices and instruments, evaluation of results, expect of rain on measurements, and visual rating.
