SKID RESISTANCE THEORY RELATED TO GROOVING PRACTICE - A NEW REPORT
The paper explains the mechanism by which safety grooving of pavements reduces hydroplaning and increases friction. The subjects discussed deal with tire hydroplaning, water drainage under footprint, tire friction and longitudinal grooving.
