USE OF SIMULATION IN SHIP DESIGN
Three examples are given showing how simulation techniques can be applied to ship design problems. One of these makes use of a simulation computer language, CPSS, in a queueing-type problem. The other two rely on the designer to simulate events whose probabilities are known by sampling from a random number population. The prospective advantages of these techniques in ship design is pointed out in each case.
