ESTIMATION OF AN O-D TRIP MATRIX FROM NETWORK DATA. DUAL APPROACHES
In this report a method for estimating an origin destination trip table in a congested urban area based on observed link flows and a minimum information principle is presented. The behavioural assumption used is that of user equilibrium. The methods presented are such that the o-d estimation problem is solved as a sequence of combined distribution and assignment problems. Numerical results for a small illustrative problem as well as results for a medium sized large scale problem are reported. See also TRIS 378111 and TRIS 378113. (Author/TRRL)
