FACTORS INFLUENCING THE VARIATION OF THE NUMBER OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
LIIKENNEONNETTOMUUSLUKUJEN VAIHTELUUN VAIKUTTAVAT TEKIJAT
The multivariable methods devised in earlier studies have been used here in explaining the accident variation of the 1970's. The number of accidents resulting in death, injury and vehicle damage for each province and month were explained by vehicular mileage, yearly trend, speed limit phase, seasonal variation of accidents, road surface conditions and seasonal variation of daylight. These variables explained 70-80% of the accident variation. (TRRL)
