PW. SOUND KILLER
This publication describes the technical specifications and fields of applications of a noise reduction system called PW Sound Killer which combines effective sound reduction with attractive aesthetic features. The thickness of this living noise barrier is about 40-60 centimeters (the height could be varied according to requirements), and consists of a stainless steel frame supporting columns set in concrete foundations. To the columns is mounted a stainless steel melsh which is insured against bulging by steel hooks. The mesh is filled with peat moss and the system is planted in such a way that after 2 seasons, one obtains a living green sound barrier. Decomposition requires that the peat moss be replenished after 3-5 years. A number of evergreen or deciduous plants may be grown in the peat moss of the PW Sound Killer: Hedera Lehx, Cotoneaster, Euorymus, Salux, Parthenocissus, and Hydranges.
