EVALUATION OF AN END TREATMENT FOR HEAVY-POST MEDIAN BARRIERS
A ramped-end terminal for heavy-post, blocked-out W-beam median barrier was evaluated through full-scale crash tests and in-service performance documentation. This terminal consists of a 25-ft section of W-beam bolted to the end of the barrier and is twisted 90 degree, ramped down to the ground, and bolted to a concrete anchor. Three intermediate posts with angle-blockouts are included in the terminal.
