METHODS FOR THE ESTIMATION OF BICYCLE FLOW - METHODS AVAILABLE AND FURTHER NEEDS
METODER FOER ATT UPPSKATTA CYKELTRAFIKMAENGDER - INVENTERING AV TILLGAENGLIGA METODER OCH BEHOV
The aim of this report is to investigate available methods for estimating bicycle flows and methods which need to be developed. The methods used are of both "practical" (counts) and "theoretical" (predictive) nature. A method for counting is suggested. To predict bicycle traffic a further development of the "fourstep model" (trip generation, trip distribution, modal split and traffic assignment) already used for car and public transport is suggested.
