OSCILLATIONS OF A SPHERICAL SHELL WITH A LIQUID
KOLEBANIYA SFERICHESKOI OBOLOCHKI S ZHIDKOST'YU
Relying on the equations of the moment theory of shells, an investigation of the free oscillations of a spherical shell, partly filled with a liquid, is carried out. A method, permitting an investigation of natural frequencies and forms of oscillations of the entire system as a whole, is used to solve the problem. Transcendental equations are derived for the case of rigid fastening and articulated joint support of a hemispherical shell filled with a liquid. These equations allow frequencies of natural oscillation of the system to be determined in a sufficiently simple way with the aid of a digital computer. Numerical results are presented.
