LASER DOPPLER ANEMOMETER FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF AN ARBITRARY VELOCITY COMPONENT IN HIGHLY TURBULENT FLUID FLOWS
A working laser doppler anemometer has been developed in which the laser light has been frequency shifted by an acousto-optical method. The advantages are that it can determine the sign of the velocity component measured and allows measurements to be made in highly turbulent flows.
