METRORAIL AREA PLANNING
Metropolitan Washington's rapid rail transit system--METRORAIL--was planned during a period of high growth. Rapid transit and land use planning were seen a tools for shaping growth. This report describes planning and development around 18 of the 86 planned stations, as well as the development program for Metrorail stations conducted by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
