STRUCTURES: SI UNITS. 2ND EDITION

This book deals with the use of matrices in structural analysis and concentrates mainly on framed structures. In this second edition all the original material has been retained, except for some introductory text which has been deleted. The chapter dealing with the flexibility approach has been largely rewritten, and brief sections on stiffened plates and stability functions have been added to the chapter on compression members. Fifteen chapters deal with: 1, introduction; 2, analysis of statically determinate structures; 3, simple stress systems; 4, deformation of beams; 5, deformation of structures; 6, statically determinate structures; 7, flexibility method; 8, stiffness method; 9, successive approximations; 10, energy theorems; 11, use of models in structural analysis; 12, compression members and stability problems; 13, shell structures; 14, limit analysis of plane frames; and 15, the arch and the suspension bridge.
