FREE VIBRATION OF SHELLS OF REVOLUTION
A displacement finite element formulation for the dynamic analysis of shells of revolution is presented. Following the derivation of the mass and stiffness matrices, the kinematic condensation technique is employed to reduce the order of the eigenvalue problem. The scope and accuracy of displacement functions are treated through analytical and numerical studies.
