Transformation of business models of logistics and transportation companies in digital economy
Currently, existing business models of logistics and transportation companies need to be adapted to new conditions of digital economy. It is a very important problem that requires urgent solution because the speed of adaptation of the organizational form to changes in the external environment determines the level of probability of a logistics company survival in the market and the effectiveness of its activity. The aim of this study is to examine the distinguishing features of business models for logistics and transportation companies and their transformation in digital economy. To achieve this goal, methods of analysis and synthesis, classification, comparison, statistics, expert assessments, and data graphical representation were used. The specific typical business models for companies operating in the logistics and transportation market have been considered. The comparative analysis of different business models for logistics and transportation operators has been carried out. The main factors influencing the development of logistics and transportation services format have been identified. Recommendations taking into account the influence of key factors on the main elements of logistics and transportation organizations’ business models have been developed. These findings suggest the most preferred business model for 5PL providers in digital economy.
