HANDBOOK OF COMPUTER MODELS FOR TRAFFIC OPERATIONS ANALYSIS-TECHNICAL APPENDIX: SUMMARY OF MODELS AND REFERENCES

This document presents a synopsis of over 100 computer models for traffic operations analysis which were identified during a survey of related literature. The models have been grouped for presentation based upon the geometric configuration they were primarily designed to model, i.e., intersections, arterials, arterial networks, freeways and transportation corridors. Included in the synopsis is a brief description of the purpose, modeling approach, programming language and structure, model application, input and output characteristics. The appendix contains an annotated bibliography of all references which were identified. (FHWA)
