Research on Passenger Characteristics Affecting Subway Station’s Security Efficiency
To identify the passenger characteristics that impact the security efficiency of a subway station, the author conducted an investigation into Xi'an Subway Stadium Station. Architectural models were established to analyze the site features and security-inspection process in the security area. With the video-capture and target-tracking methods, time consumption in each stage, queue length, item status, and passenger gender were recorded. Statistical analysis shows that both waiting time and evacuation time are significantly influenced by queue length, and item status has a marked impact on the checking time. The gender factor has no notable impact. Considering the significant factors that affect the security efficiency, optimization suggestions are put forward, including setting the ground guide markings in the waiting area, extending the range of isolation fences, and adopting differentiated security-checking methods for passengers with different characteristics.
