Research on Custom Bus Fare Systems—Taking Ningbo as an Example
With the comprehensive development of China's cities, the existing system of urban public transport needs to be improved and supplemented to adapt to change, so the custom bus was developed. Custom buses are characterized to meet the needs of specific groups’ commute. The authors found that most cities have congestion problems and custom bus profits are more difficult to realize than anticipated. Therefore, proposing a reasonable ticket system to attract passengers to improve the public transport system, which helps solve urban traffic congestion. At the same time, they can minimize costs to reduce the financial burden of the government, achieving the lowest cost for the individual as well as social benefits. In this paper, taking Ningbo as an example, the authors develop a reasonable fare system, which includes cost regulation, social benefits’ quantization, and financial allowance, and must fit Ningbo custom bus operational mode (independent and dependent mode).
