Design of PCI Bus High-Speed Data Acquisition System Based on FPGA

Peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus is a standard bus of the computer. It adopts European standard and has the advantages of plug and play, interrupt sharing, high-speed transmission, and safety fastening. However, the PCI communication protocol is complex and difficult to develop. This article uses the PCI9054 protocol conversion chip to build a bridge between the upper computer and the lower computer. The data acquisition card uses AD7606 to complete the conversion between analog signal and digital signal. The field programmable gate array (FPGA) controls the acquisition of AD data and the data transfer between the AD7606 and PCI9054. PLX provides API functions for the PCI protocol on the computer side. Based on these functions, the data acquisition and display program are written in the VC++ 6.0 environment, and then the program is packaged as a dynamic link library. The dynamic link library is called by LabVIEW, and the data display and storage are done in LabVIEW. The experimental results show that the scheme works stably, the transmission speed is fast, and the data is accurate.
