Electromagnetic Compatibility of WiFi Networks on Rolling Stocks in the Railway Transport
This work considers the main problems associated with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in WiFi networks, widely used in modern rolling stock vehicles of railway transport. Typical internal electromagnetic (EM) interference is caused by the high density of equipment layout in the rolling stock, and external EM interference is created by public cellular networks of mobile communication and other radio engineering systems. The main parameters are estimated of EMC in WiFi networks, which allows to increase the EMC at the time of configuring these networks. The results of experiments are shown to determine the parameters of WiFi networks within the selected railway wagon, which show a high level of fluctuations in the useful signal along the wagon and a sufficiently high level of EM interference signals, which ultimately affects the EMC of WiFi network.
