DYNAMIC BUCKLING OF THIN ELASTIC SHELLS

The report summarizes five studies in the statics and dynamics of thin elastic shells of cylindrical, spherical, and conical shape. Various types of time-dependent loads are considered and the responses of the shells investigated by a variety of techniques. Agreement of theory with available experimental evidence is discussed where possible. (Author)
