INSTALLATION OF A SYSTEM OF FLOATING BUOYS FOR SERVING THE CONTINENTAL REFINERY OF IMMINGHAM
Installation of a single buoy mooring system in the Humber by I.H.C. Holland involved drilling and cementing four piles for anchoring the collector (connected to an underwater pipeline and having a floating valve and a non-return valve for preventing leakage in case of pipe damage), drilling nine holes to test the soil, drilling and cementing eight more piles in a 600 m dia circle, and attaching the buoy to these piles. The ship "Installer I" and procedure are described.
