FUNDING CHARACTERISTICS OF TRANSPORT RESEARCH IN AUSTRALIA
The principal results of a study undertaken by the Bureau of Transport Economics into the funding characteristics of transport research in Australia are described. Problems of definition are discussed and the levels of funding in recent years are outlined for the commonwealth, state and private sectors. It was found that total expenditure on all forms of transport research in Australia exceeded $82 million in 1980-81. (Author/TRRL)
