THE POLICY OF THE DUTCH GOVERNMENT REGARDING THE TRANSPORT OF DISABLED PERSONS
HET BELEID VAN DE NEDERLANDSE OVERHEID INZAKE HET VERVOER VAN GEHANDICAPTEN
The policy of the Dutch central government, and in particular the policy of the department of traffic and transport, as regards the transport of disabled persons is reviewed. In particular public transport and an alternative transport mode for specific categories of disabled persons is considered. After a review of policy starting points the present situation in public transport is described. Thereafter the measures which have so far been taken and the intentions in policy are given. Conclusions on the policy that has been followed and the policy that should be adopted in future are presented.
