WEATHERVANE TANKER BARGE MOORING BUOY

Single Buoy Moorings Inc. will install a 70,000 dwt barge single-buoy storage and loading facility for the Societe Nationale des Petroles d'Aquitaine's offshore Ashtart oilfield in the Gulf of Gabes, Tunisia. The nevel stiff mooring arm construction carrying the oil piping is rigidly connected to the buoy turntable and hinged on the barge bow; this enables the barge to "weathervane" around the buoy and obviates floating-hose problems. The barge will receive 30,000 dwt tankers alongside. Terminal Installations Inc. will carry out the installation work.
