TWO OFFSHORE SUPERPORTS FACING DELAY
Construction of two offshore oil ports being built by LOOP Inc. (Abstract No. 20-50067) and by Seadock off Louisiana and Texas, respectively, will fall behind schedule unless Congress establishes a central authority which can give approval to the projects. The Louisians project is managed by W.B. Read, of Marathon Oil Co., and the Texas project by L. Patton, of Cities Service Oil Co. Both projects involve the installation of monobuoy-type offshore unloading terminals with central pumping facilities connected by pipelines to onshore tank farms. Progress in the design and engineering work for each project to date is reviewed.
