North Dakota Railroad Line Segment Database Technical Reference

The railroad industry uses a variety of information and data sources to present planners and decision makers with the best environment facilitating the decision process. The management of this information and its environment is vital to ensure that decision makers have an operational framework allowing fast, easy and meaningful access to relevant data. Equally important is the management of the relationships inherent in the data or relationships of interest to a user within this environment. This report describes the design and implementation of such a system incorporating a relational database environment.
