SPEED AND VELOCITY CONCEPTS USED IN THE NORDIC COUNTRIES

This report presents an inventory of the speed and velocity concepts used in the Nordic countries for planning and design of roads as well as for the speed regulation of road traffic. The use and meaning of these concepts in the different countries are compared. The speed and velocity concepts required for the description of existing and planned roads, the dimensioning of roads and the guidance of road users are discussed. (TRRL)
