ROLLING RESISTANCE AND AIR RESISTANCE FACTORS FOR INDIAN ROAD CONDITIONS AND VEHICLES
As part of the road user cost study, the project described develops a simulation model able to predict rolling resistance characteristics, using road surfacing roughness coefficients, for different types of vehicle and surfacing conditions commonly found in India. The work is based on the use of the Swedish (vti) model suitably adapted for Indian conditions. The paper describes the experiments and presents the results which show the relationship between roughness values and rolling resistance factors. (TRRL)
