TRAFFIC GENERATION: USERS' GUIDE AND REVIEW OF STUDIES
This manual provides information which enables the traffic generation characteristics and parking demand of development proposals to be assessed in a standardised manner. A comprehensive review of the traffic generation studies carried out in this country during the past decade has resulted in trip rates being recommended for various categories of land use. Included in each land use section is an example of how to apply the recommended trip rates, and a review of the studies from which the data have been derived. The recommended trip rates presented in each section are primarily orientated towards Greater London. By reference to the review of studies sections, however, the user should be able to judge the applicability of the trip rates to a particular situation if necessary. (TRRL)
