ROAD SAFETY WORK IN NORDIC YEAR OF TRAFFIC SAFETY 1983

The author mentions some of the aspects of traffic safety which should be highlighted in the 1983 traffic safety policy: drunken driving, driver education and training, compulsory use of safety belts, compliance with speed limits, use of reflective clothing by pedestrians, use of extra high brake lights to prevent rear end collisions, improvement in road surface conditions to prevent skidding accidents. The setting up of a parliamentary commission to speed up the implementation of safety measures is suggested. (TRRL)
