DESIGN AND USE OF A MINI-TUBULAR REACTOR FOR TRANSPORT FUEL RESEARCH IN AUSTRALIA
The design of a mini-tubular reactor is described, with emphasis on the more important components: the catalyst tube, furnace, reactant feed techniques, gas flow control, product sampling and analytical techniques. Typical reactions which have been studied included the conversion of methanol and ethanol over zsm-5 catalyst. Finally, the utility of the mobil catalyst for production of high quality transport fuels in Australia is discussed. (Author/TRRL)
