A GERMAN FLOATING PLANT FOR LIQUEFYING NATURAL GAS

A German floating plant for liquefying natural gas will be built by Liquid Gas Anlagen Union G.m.b.H. in a ship 274 m long, 48 m wide, and 22 m deep. A company patented process will permit liquefaction of 200,000 cu m/hr of gas, which will be stored at 1 atm and -162 deg C. Investment cost is lower than for a land based installation, and the ship can be moored near gas wells.
