PERFORMANCE MODEL FOR RUT DEPTH AS A TOOL FOR MAINTENANCE PLANNING OF ROAD PAVEMENTS
GEDRAGSMODEL VOOR DE RIJSPOORDIEPTE ALS HULPMIDDEL BIJ DE PLANNING VAN ONDERHOUD VAN WEGEN
After an introduction on the causes and nuisances of rutting, the author discusses the performance model for rut depth, with the following parameters: rut depth, age of the wearing course and construction of the road. The rut depth limit for the model was fixed at 18 mm. Several examples of the operation of the model are given. It is stated that the model can be put to good use within the frameworks of regional and national maintenance plans for road pavements. (TRRL)
